GENERAL DESCRIPTION

It is a two pack polyamide cured epoxy resin based zinc rich primer to give 95% zinc content in dry film and render excellent protection to steel structure ,tanks,pipelines,plant components etc. in both interior & exterior exposed conditions. It provides cathodic protection and also gives good resistance to underfilm creeping corrosion at damaged areas.

RECOMMENDED USE

Recommended for use in refineries, power plants, petro-chemicals unit,gas plants, fertilizer units, pen stock, sluice gates etc.

SURFACE PREPARATION STEEL SURFACES : Degrease and blast clean to Sa 2½ grade minimum of Swedish specification SIS-05-5900-1967. No other mode of surface preparation is acceptable. Steel profile should not exceed 75 microns. Surface should be perfectly clean and dry before applying Apigard Epoxy zinc Rich Primer...
LIMITATION Being zinc based the coating is not resistant to acid and alkali solutions
APPLICATION DETAILS

METHOD OF APPLICATION: Conventional/Airless spray. Brush for small areas only. Airless spray recommended for getting uniform coating. Use of mechanical stirrer is suggested for mixing the base, hardener and zinc powder. Mixed paint is to be kept stirred during application to avoid any pigment settlement.
NOTES ON AIRLESS SPRAY:
•Tip Range-Automatic 17-26 thou
•Total output fluid pressure – 2500 Psi(176 kg / sq.cm.)

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

• Use PVC or polychloroprene gloves and face shield are desirable, as the paint contains Creosote Oil which contains phenols.
• In case of contamination, rinse with fresh running water and seek medical help at once.
• Provide sufficient ventilation when working with solvent based coatings in confined spaces and stagnant air.
• Follow local and national Safety rules.
